Full Time Firefighter Position:

Full Time Firefighter positions are an internally tested position. Full Time Firefighter Tests are given as positions come open and you must be a Paid on Call member to be eligible to test.

On-Call Firefighter Recruitment Overview:

Paid-on call firefighters must live within the Wellston Fire Department coverage area. They must attend 9 out of the 12+ monthly training meetings per year. They must attend at least 20% of the annual calls.

Application Requirements:

Must have a current Ohio Driver's License. Must be physically capable of performing the job of firefighter, must attain Ohio FF IA, and National Registry First Responder within 1 year of hire date (paid for by Department). Pass Emergency Vehicle Driver and Blood Borne Pathogen Training. Complete 1 year probationary period (starts after obtaining Fire Training).
